HOPE offers local flavor with cookbooks

By Stephanie Lewis
Progress News Writer -
Enjoy good tomato cooking from people who know about the red, ripe fruit.
The first ever Jacksonville Tomato Cookbooks are now on sale at local businesses, said Dianna Morgan, chairman of the cookbook committee. Everyone can enjoy many unique recipes made from tomatoes for just $12.
“It has a good diverse selection,” Morgan said. “We solicited recipes from the citizens of Jacksonville. “Everyone needs to go out and buy one; it is worth it.”
The monies from the cookbooks go to support HOPE Inc. in Jacksonville. The organization helps families in need.
Morgan said not only do the cookbooks have many great recipes, but they also have a lot of helpful hints. For example, they list the different measurements needed for cooking.
“The book is great for gifts,” Morgan said. “I have suggested to HOPE that we might do another one for next year, but we have not made any definite plans.”
One may purchase the Tomato Cookbook from the following locations:
n Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce
n Treasure Cove
n HOPE Inc.
n Larissa House
n Jacksonville Daily Progress
