Services for Cleo Fain Sr. of Palestine will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at South Union Baptist Church in Palestine with the Revs. Vernon Jackson, James Busby and Dr. Kenneth E. Henry, of DeCatur, Ga., officiating. Family tributes will be given by Mattie Ester of San Francisco, Calif., and by Dr. Charles E. Henry of Lubbock. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Palestine, under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Annie L. Fain of Palestine; son, Cleo Fain Jr. of Palestine; and sister-in-law, Carol H. Boyd of Jacksonville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Maxine Chupp Services for Maxine Chupp, 80, of Tyler will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lloyd James Funeral Chapel in Tyler with the Rev. Richard Luna officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Memorial Park. Mrs. Chupp died Sunday in Tyler. She was born June 14, 1922, in Reklaw. She was a beauty salon operator and a resident of Tyler. She attended Pollard United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marvin Chupp; brother, Alvis Parsons; and parents, Tom and Bertha Parsons. Survivors include son, Ronzie Ray Chupp of Tyler; sister, Doris Hassell of Rusk; brothers, Theo Parsons of New Summerfield and Thomas Lee Parsons of Rusk; niece and care giver, Loeta Martin of Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Martin, Roger Parsons, Wayne Parsons, Gayle Parsons, Rodney Hassell and Marcus Hassell. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. William L. ‘Bill’ Casey William L. “Bill” Casey, beloved husband of Jo Bess Casey, passed away Monday, August 19th, 2002. Bill Casey was born June 7th, 1921 in Jacksonville, TX. A WWII veteran, Bill Casey is the retired President of Howell Corporation of Houston and the former President of Howell Hydrocarbons of San Antonio. Bill Casey was a resident of Marble Falls, TX and a former resident of San Antonio, TX. He is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 21st at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway. He is survived by his wife, Jo Bess Casey; his children, Linda and Lawrence Garcia of San Antonio and Jefferson and Bettie Casey of Odessa, FL; his grandchildren, William and Merideth Garcia, Casey Garcia, and Ryan Casey; and his great-grandchildren, Merlin and Gavin Garcia. Jona Johnson Kennedy Services for Jona Johnson Kennedy, 85, of Lufkin, formerly of Rusk, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Lufkin. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery in the Elm Grove community near Rusk under the direction of Williams Funeral Home. Mrs. Kennedy died Sunday at Wells Health Center in Wells. She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Cherokee County. She was reared in the Elm Grove community, where she attended public school and church. She was an active member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She has served for several years as treasurer and a member of the Missionary Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Johnson; two sisters, Bessie M. McDuff and Lexine Johnson; and her husband, Archie W. Kennedy. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Kennedy of Rusk; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wade D. Johnson of Lufkin; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 30 great- great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kennedy, Kendrick Kennedy, Rodney Kennedy, Wade Kennedy III, Larry Kennedy and Larry McDuff Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church. Vivian Jenkins Green Services for Vivian Jenkins Green, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Chapel in Rusk with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk. Mrs. Green died Monday in Rusk. She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Anderson County. She attended Lon Morris College in Jacksonville. She lived in Dallas, Kansas, New Mexico and was a resident of Rusk for the past 20 years. She was an office manager for Keele Construction in Dallas, a realtor and an office manager for Isaacs Motor Co. in Rusk. She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace Jones; father, Hosea Jones; and brother, Horace Jones. Survivors include son, Barry Jenkins of Dallas; step-daughter, Linda Ward of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Inez Cameron of Rusk and grandson, Brandon Chadwell of San Diego, Calif. |
